What Makes The Program Unique?

The adolescent years are a time of rapid physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual development.  Most treatment programs for pornography addiction are geared for adults seeking recovery and aren't catered for the complexities of adolescence and the wide range of developmental challenges that exist.  The Mending The Armor program has been specifically designed to mesh addiction recovery theory with dolescent treatment theory.

"Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

 Ephesians 6:11

What Makes The Program Unique?

Treatment Designed for Youth

The adolescent years are a time of rapid physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual development.  Most treatment programs for pornography addiction are geared for adults seeking recovery and aren't catered for the complexities of adolescence and the wide range of developmental challenges that exist.  The Mending The Armor program has been specifically designed to mesh addiction recovery theory with adolescent treatment theory.

Group Therapy

Group therapy in pornography addiction recovery is vital and finding treatment groups specific for youth is difficult because so few exist.  While individual and family therapy sessions occur as part of the program, the primary venue for therapy in the Mending the Armor program is group therapy.

Length of Treatment

The length of treatment depends on the individual needs of each young person participating in the program.  Most young people complete the program in the range of 3 to 12 months.  Sexual addiction recovery programs for adults can span two years or more.   Many youth are still at the front end of developing a full-blown addiction and don't require long-term treatment to get on top of the issue.  Additionally, many youth simply do not have the luxury of participating in long-term therapy due to life plans such as attending college, serving missions, etc. Mending The Armor provides a  program based on individual need that provides participants with the knowledge and skills to disrupt the addiction in its early stages so that youth can enter adulthood free from addiction.
